URF is an integrated structure in IMTT, IP, but with technical autonomy and functionally independent. URF´s main task is the economic and technical regulation of the activities of the railway industry with a special focus on the relationship between the infrastructure management and the transport operators.
URF’s Director is appointed directly by the Secretary of State for Transport and does not depend functionally on the Board of IMTT, IP.
